Home technology integrator
Design, install and maintain home automation systems for clients.

About the job
What it's like
From video doorbells to smart thermostats and lighting, homeowners are adding more and more smart devices to their home.
But it takes more than a collection of smart devices to make a home truly smart.
As a home technology integrator, it’s your job to provide the best possible customer service. Explaining new technology to customers in a friendly and easy-to-understand manner to help create a fully functional smart-home experience.
Just as electricians are hired to wire homes, integrators design and install the smart-home systems that take a house to the next level of technology.
Your tasks might include:
installing digital products in customers’ homes
educating and informing customers about digital products
collecting feedback and complaints to improve the customer experience
designing and planning home automation systems including audio/visual, lighting, security and climate control

Hours
You’ll normally work full-time hours, Monday to Friday. However, you may have on-call duties in the evenings and over weekends to deal with technical problems to accommodate customers.

Environment
You’ll work most of the time in residential homes.

Travel
You’ll need to travel to different sites for customers. Some contracts may involve overnight stays away from home.
