What it's like

You'll hold regular meetings with your team - known as scrums - and it's your job as the Scrum Master to motivate the team to perform as effectively as possible.

  • Coaching and inspiring the team to deliver their best work

  • Removing any obstacles that would stop the team succeeding

  • Being the spokesperson who communicates with other parts of the business on behalf of the team

There are a range of higher education options suitable for the role of Scrum Master.

Higher education such as a Higher National Certificate or a Higher National Diploma in software engineering or computer science can be very valuable to understand a team’s needs and become a more effective Scrum Master.

A degree is not required to be a Scrum Master but certain degrees can be very useful, such as communications, computing or business courses
